Citizens Advice Wandsworth provides advice, information and support on a range of social welfare issues (Benefits, Debt, Housing and Employment are our main enquiry areas) to roughly 13,000 Wandsworth residents a year. Most clients contact us via their telephone adviceline, or by dropping-in (pre-Covid-19), those who need extra help are provided with appointments. They additionally deliver a range of specialist and in-depth support through separately funded projects which target people most in need of help.
Total length of project: 28-32 hours over 2 months
Citizens Advice Wandsworth are in need of a data analyst to help develop a framework for understanding their data and then create a user-friendly tool to analyse it. They’d like to be able to feed in monthly/quarterly data from existing data sets and then get back a simple set of key metrics. An Excel spreadsheet or similar would be ideal as our data outputs into Excel-compatible formats. The organisation collects a lot of data in the course of delivering services but don’t have the tools or expertise to link data sets together and analyse them. This makes it difficult for service managers to make operational decisions about how to use our capacity and also complicates strategic planning.
For this role we are looking for a skilled volunteer with a strong data background, with ability to set up bespoke excel compatible frameworks that can link different data sets and report simply.
