Financial Systems Setup
Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative are a global organisation working for the practical realisation of human rights through research, advocacy, capacity building and mobilisation. Locally, the organisation links with the Commonwealth Secretariat and other institutions based in London advocating for human rights promotion and protection within the Commonwealth. In addition, CHRI work closely with their Commonwealth 8.7 Network members focusing on eradicating modern slavery who are based locally. Their London office is small, with 6 in our team plus 4 interns, looking to expand and improve systems and processes.
Total length of project: 20 hours over 1.5 months
CHRI currently manages finances on Excel, having various grant agreements, they would like to use a basic accounting system to track costs and expenses by grant to allow for grant reporting and overall profitability. Looking to recruit a finance/admin assistant in the future, CHRI would like to set up a strong system of controls and processes as well as import previous data to allow this to happen. The system will need to be selected, tailored in conjunction with the provider, grant tracking set up and historical data imported ready for use.
For this role we are looking for a volunteer with a finance background and experience of setting up financial systems.
