Wandsworth-based Citizens Advice Bureau supports 13k locals in need each year
Since the start of the pandemic, Citizens Advice Wandsworth (CAW) have seen demand for their services skyrocket above their usual yearly average. CAW provides free advice about a range of social welfare issues including benefits, debt, housing and employment. The organisation helps around 13,000 people a year empowering clients to resolve their own issues by providing them with information and self-help resources, as well as intensive casework support that can help prevent homelessness and destitution and addressing serious failures in processes managed by local and central government.
Creating videos to reach new audiences
As a result of the pandemic, digital marketing has become a key way for organisations to reach current and new beneficiaries and video content is a powerful way to spread a message that’s accessible to the masses. CAW wanted to produce video clips that clearly communicated the services they offer but with limited resources they needed a professional ‘doer’ that could coordinate the video production. Tasks included script writing and storyboarding, clear briefs for the video participants to record themselves at home using a phone or computer as well as collecting and saving all files in an organised system.
Experienced project manager coordinates video creation and sets precedent
Skilled Volunteer, Deborah B, is a highly skilled charity professional with a strong project management track record and plenty of experience coordinating multiple projects with differing audiences, participants and aims. As well as supporting CAW to create all the pre-production materials, she also drafted a ‘how to’ document that included all useful information in one place to make future video projects more efficient and easier to do in-house.
