‘Photography for Visual Storytelling: Learn the Secrets to Capturing Your Charity’s Story’
Many charities and small businesses lean heavily on what are obviously stock images, which whilst looking bright and glossy, have a lack of authenticity. Carefully crafted photos which capture real emotion and experiences, and real faces, not models will be so much more effective in engaging your audience. Think of branding photography as visual storytelling – communicating to your audience who you are and what you do.
Event outline:
You may not have the budget for a professional photographer but Alex will share with you her hints and tips for building a rich, varied library of images that you can use for all purposes. Alex’s previous Lunch and Learn taught you how to make the most of your Smartphone. Now she’ll share with you how to use photography for visual storytelling, with your brand as the main character. Alex will show you ways of capturing real emotion; the composition of your photos, which is so important in guiding your viewer to focus on what you consider important; environmental photos, showing your team members at work; original headshots that really stand out, and how little details can both spark interest and be a source of information.

“This session has given me loads of inspiration on how to tell our charity’s story visually, both in terms of how things are traditionally done, as well as cool and unique ideas to make our photos stand out.” George, Lunch & Learn attendee
