Chair of Trustees

Home-Start Lambeth’s aim is to prevent the challenges of poverty, neglect and isolation from compromising children’s ability to thrive, through matching volunteers with vulnerable families with young children in order to provide support through weekly visits and calls. All volunteers are carefully recruited, selected and trained to support families with a range of problems including poverty; chronic physical and mental ill-health; homelessness or poor housing.

Home-Start Lambeth are looking for a Chair for their Board of Trustees. The role including key responsibilities of; developing the board and guiding it in helping the scheme manager set the strategic direction, ensuring that the Board of Trustees provides due oversight and governance, and supporting and supervising the scheme manager and acting as a channel of communication between board and staff.

The organisation currently has a team of 6 part-time staff with a current Board of 9. The incumbent chair stepped down in December but is continuing as a trustee until March.
