Who are we looking for: We are looking for a volunteer who has experience with organisational governance, strategy and setting up CICs.
Project brief: Kata Kata are working to convert from a Company Limited by Guarantee to a CIC (Community Interest Company) which will run their employment/training programmes, whilst also opening a CIO (Community Interest Organisation) that will run their community garden and food pantry. They have drafted articles and developed a governance structure to enable the two organisations to work together to benefit the communities they both aim to benefit. They would like a volunteer to read through the documents they have prepared and provide feedback. They would also like to discuss the long-term plan for their organisation, and would benefit from some advice on any issues they may encounter further down the line.
Who you'll be supporting: Kata Kata originates from the Cameroonian dialect of Douala, meaning to be creative in overcoming challenges in the face of difficulty. This is what Kata Kata represents, their culture and character all stem from this mindset. A healthy meal doesn’t need to break your bank account, it’s about being efficient and creative with the resources you have. They support any healthy lifestyle and ambition, ultimately health is wealth.
