Who We Are Looking For:

Konverse Dance Crews is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with expertise in business development to help them review their current operating model and design a more sustainable approach ahead of their September 2027 relaunch. The ideal candidate will have experience in business model design and financial scenario planning.

Project Brief:

Konverse Dance Crews currently relies heavily on freelance work and ad-hoc funding, and are keen to build a more sustainable model that can support paid. They are looking to review their current approach and map out a clearer, more resilient business model ahead of their planned relaunch in September 2027.
The Skilled Volunteer will:
  • Review the current business and operating model, identifying key areas for improvement.
  • Develop a new, more sustainable business model, incorporating financial scenario planning.
  • Identify and advise on key business priorities for relaunch, such as diversifying funding and raising the club’s profile.

Who You’ll Be Supporting:

Konverse Dance Crews is a youth-led community dance group based in Barking and Dagenham, founded in 2014 to give young people a platform to express themselves and build confidence through dance. Members are encouraged to teach classes, choreograph routines and lead showcases, developing leadership and teamwork skills alongside their dance talent. Since its founding, Konverse Dance Crews has worked with over 700 young people across the UK.

Your Impact:

By helping Konverse Dance Crews build a sustainable business model, you will directly strengthen the platform that gives local young people a safe, structured space to grow in confidence, discipline and self-expression. A stronger, more resilient model means more consistent classes, more opportunities for young people to lead and perform, and a lasting resource for the Barking and Dagenham community for years to come.

Please note: This project has an estimated time commitment of 2 hours per week for 3 months, totalling around 24 hours. All Link UP London Skilled Volunteering Projects are designed to work flexibly around the schedule of the Skilled Volunteer. This time commitment can be agreed and spread over a time frame that works for both the Skilled Volunteer and the organisation they are supporting.
