Who We Are Looking For:

Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth (CAML) is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with expertise in communications strategy, charity marketing, or internal communications.

Project Brief:

With over 85 years of trusted service, CAML plays a vital role in the local community. However, the organisation has limited communications capability and lacks a unified external voice. Alongside a Skilled Volunteer, they would like to develop a structured communications strategy to improve visibility, stakeholder engagement, and community awareness.

This project will include:
  • Conduct a communications audit – Review existing communications, approaches and activity to understand what is currently in place, what is working well and where gaps exist.
  • Develop a comprehensive communications strategy – Create a clear and consistent strategy document that identifies their key audiences, messaging and strategies.
  • Advice on  Strategic Alignment – Advise on communications activity beyond the project, and how to align these with CAML’s 2030 strategic goals.
This strategy will enable CAML to tell its story more effectively, increase its local profile, improve team coordination, and ultimately reach more people who need help the most.

Who You’ll Be Supporting:

Citizens Advice Merton and Lambeth (CAML) is one of London’s oldest advice charities, providing free, impartial, and confidential advice to local residents since 1939. The charity supports people facing a wide range of issues including debt, housing, employment, immigration, and welfare benefits.

Please note: This project has an estimated time commitment of 2 hours per week for 4 months, totalling around 32 hours. All Link UP London Skilled Volunteering Projects are designed to work flexibly around the schedule of the Skilled Volunteer. This time commitment can be agreed and spread over a time frame that works for both the Skilled Volunteer and the SGO they are supporting.
