Who we are looking for: We are looking for a volunteer with legal experience, who can cast an eye over a charities constitution and bring it up to date.
Project brief: Loughborough Community Centre is in need of updating its charities constitution and making any amendments accordingly. Board members have already reviewed the constitution and decided what needs to be amended, but they would like a volunteer with a legal background to support them in making these changes so as to provide maximum confidence in it. The need for this updating comes from the development of more services over the past few years.
Who you’ll be supporting: Loughborough Community Centre (LCC) puts community cohesion at the heart of its ethos. Established in 1981 by local residents, they exist for the benefit of the community around their centre. In particular, those that are affected by poverty. LCC activities include: Preschool, Holiday Play Project, Family Support and Community activities within the Max Roach Centre in Brixton, London.
Time commitment: This project has an estimated time commitment of 1.5 hours per week for 3 months, totalling around 18 hours. All Link UP London Skilled Volunteering Projects are designed to work flexibly around the schedule of the Skilled Volunteer. This time commitment can be agreed and spread over a time frame that works for both the Skilled Volunteer and the SGO they are supporting.
