Who We Are Looking For:

Link UP London is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with expertise in impact measurement, monitoring and evaluation, and user feedback systems to support Music Relief Foundation in designing a streamlined, outcomes-focused framework.

Project Brief:

Music Relief Foundation currently gathers feedback across its music school and funded programmes, but these tools are not yet joined up within a consistent impact measurement framework. Existing questionnaires and mid-/end-point forms provide useful insights, yet they risk creating feedback fatigue and do not clearly align with defined outcomes. As a result, the organisation is not able to evidence change as confidently as it would like when reporting to funders and partners.

The charity is seeking support from a Skilled Volunteer to design a simple, organisation-wide user feedback system that is low burden, outcomes-led and easy to sustain. The volunteer will help refine existing tools, embed them within a clear measurement structure, and create practical reporting formats that strengthen funding applications and stakeholder communications.

The volunteer will:

  • Develop a streamlined, low-burden feedback system for children, young people, parents/carers and music students.
  • Create an outcomes-based impact framework with clear indicators and aligned data-collection methods.
  • Design practical tools (e.g. short surveys, creative youth feedback methods, facilitator observation templates) and simple data processes.
  • Support the development of a clear and consistent impact reporting structure for funders and partners.

Who You’ll Be Supporting:

The Music Relief Foundation (MRF) is a community charity dedicated to providing a leading voice for young people and empowering grassroots communities. Through accessible music education, leadership programs, and community engagement, they aim to equip young people with the skills, resilience, and a sense of belonging that help them unlock their full potential.

Your impact:

By designing a structured and sustainable impact measurement system, you will enable Music Relief Foundation to truly embed user voice into programme delivery while avoiding over-surveying families. Clearer data and stronger outcome reporting will enhance funding applications, increase long-term financial sustainability, and ultimately expand access to inclusive music education for children and young people who might otherwise miss out.

Please note: This project has an estimated time commitment of 2 hours per week for 4 months, totalling around 32 hours. All Link UP London Skilled Volunteering Projects are designed to work flexibly around the schedule of the Skilled Volunteer. This time commitment can be agreed and spread over a time frame that works for both the Skilled Volunteer and the SGO they are supporting.
