Who we’re looking for: We are looking for a Skilled Volunteer with programming experience.
Project brief: Help Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) create an interactive world map on the Commonwealth 8.7 website depicting their network members and providing details of each organisation. They would like a Skilled Volunteer to create a map that links to an existing database on their members and provide training to their staff on how to use and update it. The map will help them promote the Commonwealth 8.7 Network to their external audience and partners by showcasing the numbers, diversity and areas of expertise of their member organisations. The map should ideally, correlate to Peters Projection Map of the world.
Who you’ll be supporting: The Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI) is the secretariat to the Commonwealth 8.7 Network, which has 80 member organisations spread across five regions of the Commonwealth ‒ Africa, Asia, Europe, the Pacific and the Caribbean/Americas. CHRI’s research, advocacy, capacity building, and mobilisation efforts aim to raise awareness and demand accountability for human rights violations, push for policy reforms and evidenced-based interventions, and empower communities by amplifying the voices of those who are marginalised. CHRI’s work focuses on: Access to Justice, Access to Information, Media Rights and Freedom of Expression, Contemporary Forms of Slavery and Human Trafficking.
All Link UP London Skilled Volunteering Projects are designed to work around the schedule of the Skilled Volunteer. The time commitment above will be agreed and spread over a time frame that works for both the Skilled Volunteer and the SGO they are supporting. This could range from a few days to a few months.
