Who We Are Looking For:

Cheri Coco is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with expertise in PR to help them build a clear plan for increasing their visibility with journalists and media outlets. The ideal candidate will have experience developing PR campaign strategies and writing compelling, winning press releases, ideally within the arts, culture or community sectors.

Project Brief:

Cheri Coco wants to extend its reach and profile through local, regional and national press, and already holds a database of journalist contacts ready to be put to good use. They are looking for expert support to shape this into a focused, effective approach that helps secure the recognition and connections needed to sustain their work long term.

The Skilled Volunteer will:

  • Develop a PR strategy tailored to Cheri Coco’s goals and target audiences.
  • Draft and refine press releases designed to capture media interest and build coverage.
  • Advise on how best to engage their existing journalist contact database for maximum impact.

Who You’ll Be Supporting:

Cheri Coco is a community arts and cultural organisation based in Chelsea, London that supports Global Majority communities via dance, music, culture and creative activities. Inspired by the meaning of “my angel” in French, Cheri Coco brings people together, helps people build confidence in themselves and pride in their culture, and makes arts accessible to people of all backgrounds and abilities.

Your Impact:

By helping Cheri Coco reach new audiences and secure the funding and partnerships that strong press coverage can unlock, this project will directly support their ability to keep delivering creative opportunities for Global Majority residents of Chelsea, ensuring local people continue to have a platform to connect, grow, and celebrate.

Please note: This project has an estimated time commitment of 2 hours per week for 3 months, totalling around 24 hours. All Link UP London Skilled Volunteering Projects are designed to work flexibly around the schedule of the Skilled Volunteer. This time commitment can be agreed and spread over a time frame that works for both the Skilled Volunteer and the organisation they are supporting.
