Who We Are Looking For:

Slow Assembly is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with expertise in accounting and tax compliance to help them secure key reliefs and registrations ahead of their charity launch.

Project Brief:

Ahead of launching as a registered charity, Slow Assembly needs to put the right financial and administrative foundations in place so they can make the most of the support available to them. They are looking to secure Orchestral Tax Relief, VAT exemption, and Google for Nonprofits status, and would benefit from expert guidance to navigate these processes with confidence.

The Skilled Volunteer will:
  • Advise on and support the application for Orchestral Tax Relief.
  • Guide Slow Assembly through the process of securing VAT exemption.
  • Support a successful registration with Google for Nonprofits.

Who You’ll Be Supporting:

Slow Assembly aim to produce artistically-driven, collaborative, and educational performance events that centre classical music programming around the pressing issues of modern society.  They aim to use music to build community, spark discussion, and foster meaningful connection.

Your Impact:

This role will give Slow Assembly the financial confidence and compliance to launch on a secure footing, allowing them to channel their time and funding straight into their mission. In practice, that means helping them employ staff and artists, whilst supporting them reach audiences with their thought-provoking, classical music performances.

Please note: This project has an estimated time commitment of 2 hours per week for 2 months, totalling around 16 hours. All Link UP London Skilled Volunteering Projects are designed to work flexibly around the schedule of the Skilled Volunteer. This time commitment can be agreed and spread over a time frame that works for both the Skilled Volunteer and the organisation they are supporting.
