Who We Are Looking For:

The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with experience in video and audio production who can guide the organisation in selecting and setting up the right equipment for professional video recordings of their events and discussions.

Project Brief:

The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies is aiming to improve the quality and accessibility of video recordings of their public events, which cover urgent topics such as women in prison and systemic issues in the criminal justice system. Although an initial search for equipment has been conducted, the team feels out of their depth when it comes to making informed purchasing decisions. They would like a Skilled Volunteer to help ensure they are investing in the most suitable tools, and advice on how best utilise them.

They are seeking support to:

  • Evaluate current recording methods and recommend high-quality, user-friendly video and audio equipment.
  • Offer expert advice on cost-effective solutions that meet both current and future needs.
  • Provide training and guidance after purchase, to ensure confident use of the new setup for both live and recorded events.

Who You’ll Be Supporting:

The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies is an independent charity working for a fairer, more effective justice system. They challenge punitive approaches and promote evidence-led, socially just alternatives. Through public engagement and policy critique, they inspire change and collaboration across sectors.

Your impact:

You will empower The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies to create professional, accessible video content, which in turn will help amplify the reach of their work and inspire a fairer justice system for all.

Please note: This project has an estimated time commitment of 2 hours per week for 2 months, totalling around 16 hours. All Link UP London Skilled Volunteering Projects are designed to work flexibly around the schedule of the Skilled Volunteer. This time commitment can be agreed and spread over a time frame that works for both the Skilled Volunteer and the SGO they are supporting.
