Who We Are Looking For:

SoundSkool is seeking a Skilled Volunteer with expertise in branding and graphic design to help deliver a modernised visual identity that better reflects the quality and creativity of its music education offer.

Project Brief:

SoundSkool has built a strong reputation as a specialist music college, but its visual identity and marketing materials have not been significantly updated in many years and no longer reflect the professionalism and creativity of the education it delivers today. With student recruitment and engagement with schools, local authorities and industry partners increasingly shaped by first impressions, a refreshed brand identity is essential to ensure SoundSkool can communicate its offer with confidence and consistency.

The Volunteer Will:
  • Design a new logo that reflects SoundSkool‘s identity, values and mission.
  • Develop a visual brand guidelines document, outlining a new colour palette, typography and visual style for consistent use across all platforms and materials.
  • Help create a set of graphic templates that the SoundSkool team can use across their communications, including social media, recruitment materials and presentations.

Who You’ll Be Supporting:

SoundSkool is a specialist, not-for-profit music industry college based in London, established in 2008 with a mission to change young people’s lives through music. Dedicated to helping 16–18 year olds launch careers in music, they provide the next generation of musicians, artists and producers with fully funded accredited courses and professional qualifications, alongside real industry connections through partners including Sony Music, Live Nation and Apple Music.

Your Impact:

SoundSkool offers a unique, specialist music education that gives young Londoners a genuine pathway into the creative industries. By delivering a refreshed and professional visual identity, the Skilled Volunteer will help ensure that this opportunity reaches the young people who stand to benefit from it most, strengthening SoundSkool’s ability to connect with more students, schools and partners and grow the community of young musicians, artists and producers it exists to serve.

Please note: This project has an estimated time commitment of 2 hours per week for 3 months, totalling around 24 hours. All Link UP London Skilled Volunteering Projects are designed to work flexibly around the schedule of the Skilled Volunteer. This time commitment can be agreed and spread over a time frame that works for both the Skilled Volunteer and the SGO they are supporting.
