Migration and Refugees

Who we’re looking for: We are looking for a Skilled Volunteer with professional research experience.

Project brief: Wandsworth Welcomes Refugees are collaborating with Wandsworth Council to more than double the number of accredited sanctuary organisations in Wandsworth. They are looking for a volunteer to support with research around their Sanctuary Listening Project, conduct a mapping exercise of potential sanctuaries, and identify opportunities for future partnerships. They would like the volunteer to:

  1. Identify key outreach channels for accessing the opinions of Wandsworth residents.
  2. Identify a number of promising prospective sanctuaries (schools, universities, colleges, theatres, libraries, gardens, shops etc.).
  3. Identify potential partners or supporters (businesses, funders, other charities, volunteer organisations etc.).

Who you’ll be supporting: Wandsworth Welcomes Refugees aims to work with everyone in the community to provide sanctuary to refugees and asylum seekers and to raise awareness of their situations to achieve positive change in Wandsworth and beyond. WWR is a member of the City of Sanctuary network, who support local organisations such as schools, libraries, cafés, theatres, and gardens to become recognized places of welcome for refugees and asylum seekers.
