The Safety Box was born out of the great need to proactively address the growing concerns of youth violence, low self-esteem, knife crime, bullying, CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation), school exclusions, gangs, drugs, exploitation and underachievement of young people. Their mission is to awaken the potential of youth, so that they have a better future and above all keep them safe, delivering a range of accredited programs to not only those in prison, youth at risk, and young people; but also to their parents, caregivers and professionals working with youth at risk.
Total project duration: 4 days (32 hours)
The Safety Box is looking for a video animator to create 2 short (2-3 min) animated videos to be used as awareness raising and learning tools to safeguard young people against knife crime and gang grooming. These animations will be widely disseminated to schools, youth networks, local councils, policy makers, community members and others to use to support young people facing these challenges. The videos will focus on:
• Knife crime – animating an exercise the org does with students in schools on this issue
• Safeguarding against gang grooming – an animation that shows the story of how young people fall into the trap of being groomed by drug dealers
Animation style can be discussed depending on knowledge and experience of the volunteer. For this role we are looking for a volunteer animator with evidence of work/portfolio for review.
