Link UP London Skilled Volunteer Luisa joined forces with Andrew Preston from Rathbone to conduct a transformative Social Media Strategy.
About the Charity
Rathbone is a charity dedicated to serving the Lambeth community with a focus on supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and SEND. They provide essential services to children, young people, and adults with these needs and also offers mainstream and integrated youth programmes at The Old Library in West Norwood. Their work includes running services for children and young people in the local area, particularly those who are deprived or have special educational needs.
The Project
Rathbone reached out to Link UP London seeking a skilled volunteer to enhance their social media strategy and usage. They aimed to increase awareness of their work, improve networking, and boost their overall impact through social media.
Rathbone was looking for a social media professional with experience in developing strategies and content plans to help them assess their current social media practices. The goal was to create a tailored strategy for each platform, explore engaging content ideas, and evaluate their current output and channel effectiveness to ensure alignment with their objectives.
The Skilled Volunteer
Link UP London matched Rathbone with Luisa Mioni. Luisa is a seasoned digital project and marketing manager with extensive experience in the sector. Her diverse digital expertise made her the ideal candidate to tackle Rathbone’s social media strategy needs. Eager to get started, Luisa focused on developing a strategic plan for each social media platform, exploring innovative content ideas for Rathbone’s team to implement, and reviewing and optimising their social media output and channel usage to enhance performance and impact.
Project Results
Luisa’s support has helped to elevate Rathbone’s social media approach, enhancing their external communication, stakeholder engagement, and local funding efforts, while her collaboration with Andrew not only enriched her professional growth but also made an impact on the community!
Rathbone has now allocated dedicated staff hours each week to implement their new social media strategy, leading to stronger external communication through marketing, PR, and social media. The charity now has clearer objectives and a more effective strategy, which has enhanced their connection with stakeholders and supported localised funding campaigns.
Luisa’s contributions were substantial; she conducted a thorough audit, identified the best content for Rathbone, and developed a comprehensive strategy with practical templates for ongoing content creation. Her work has significantly improved Rathbone’s online presence and streamlined their social media efforts!
Andrew shared, “Our social media project with Link UP London has provided us with skilled professional support that would otherwise have been beyond our reach.”
Luisa thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Andrew from Rathbone. The experience helped her expand her professional network, boost her self-confidence, and make a positive impact in the community.
Seeing both the skilled volunteer and the organisation pleased with the results is the ultimate win-win!
