The Baytree Centre enriches families through the education of women and girls. They use education and training to create supportive pathways towards social inclusion for inner-city families.
In order to implement better processes around volunteer management and attract funding for our volunteer programmes, Baytree were seeking to achieve UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management: ‘Investing in Volunteers’. To achieve the standard, Baytree needed to gather in-house policies and procedures for review and bringing into line of ‘Investing in Volunteers’ standard where necessary.
Without the skillset in house to conduct a thorough review of their policies and procedures, Baytree put together a brief for a volunteer through Link UP and were matched with Skilled Volunteer Myrna. Moving through the policies review, with Baytree, Myrna supported the organisation to develop out volunteer role descriptions, and took an in-depth look at their staff handbook.
As a result of Myrna’s support, Baytree achieved the NCVO Quality Standard. With volunteers playing a huge role in the successful delivery of the service, achieving this means Baytree can continue going from strength to strength.
