Theatre Programme Development
Wimbledon Civic Theatre Trust empowers young people in Merton to express their creativity and fulfil their potential. Their Young Actors Company provides high-quality acting training, giving young people a safe space to create exciting and challenging theatre on a professional stage. They are based at New Wimbledon Theatre from 2005 to March 2020, but shifted activities online during the pandemic. They are currently creating short films to celebrate the history of Mitcham and Wimbledon & Putney Commons.
Total project duration: 24 hours over 2 months
WCTT would like a volunteer to help guide the relaunch of the youth theatre in Autumn 2021. The focus is on how best to restructure their youth theatre model and find a sustainable way to operate across the next six months, as a result of changes since March 2020. The organisation has spent more than a year online, making films rather than live theatre, there have been changes in personnel at creative and trustee level, and their creative producer has reduced hours. WCTT would like to work with a volunteer who has extensive arts experience in order to best guide this process.
For this role, we are looking for a volunteer with a knowledge of managing change in organisations. The volunteer should also have a background as an arts professional.
