Creating an Impact Report
Wandsworth Oasis is a charity that raises funds, through our chain of 10 charity shops across SW London (Wandsworth and Lambeth) and a quirky events programme (on and offline), for HIV support, prevention and awareness raising projects. They are a major player in the circular economy through our shops and actively promote reuse, repurposing and resale of preloved items.
Total length of project: 16 hours over 1 month
Wandsworth Oasis is looking to produce an impact report that summarises the last 10 years, going into further detail on the last 3 years. The charity has gathered all the information, but has come to a roadblock in terms of creating a coherent structure so that it can have the most impact. The team has thought about the 3 P model (People, Planet, Profit) as a structure or perhaps focusing more on the impact on the HIV sector and the social impact of their shops in terms of volunteer opportunities, recycling agenda, seed funding and support of the community. It is likely to be a mix of infographics, case studies and quotes. Wandsworth Oasis is looking to publish the report online, perhaps via issuu, to have a pdf printable version and perhaps take key messages from it for social media posts and for display in their charity shops to motivate donors, staff and volunteers on the impact their donations of second hand items make for their cause. It is hoped that the document will be key material for engaging with corporates and generate partnership/fundraising opportunities.
For this role we are looking for a volunteer with an eye for strong communications and messaging, with experience creating impact reports, company brochures or overarching materials that can speak for an organisation. We are not expecting the volunteer to have a graphic design background, but any graphic knowledge is beneficial to the role.
